Job Summary
Support the patient and provider throughout the ambulatory care visit from registration through discharge by structuring patient flow for physicians. Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections as directed by a physician, while verifying insurance benefits, precertification, and assisting with billing procedures. Obtain clinical data and perform requested procedures, maintaining a safe, clean environment and preparing clinical spaces. Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure timely and organized patient movement. Requires current AAMA, NCCT, NHA, AMCA, NAHP, NCMA, or AMT certification, BLS/CPR, and at least one year of medical office experience. Salary is $22.38 per hour. Required Qualifications
- Current certification from the certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcare Association (NHA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Certification Medical association (NCMA) or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- BLS (CPR) from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Must have attained a satisfactory level of comprehension and experience in the administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous techniques
- Must complete and pass annual review of medication administration, including classroom curriculum, hands on participation and successful passing (80 or higher) of post-test
- Must be computer proficient
Desired Qualifications
- At least one (1) year of related experience in a medical office setting
- Bilingual (Spanish, Portuguese, or French)
- Experience in an Ambulatory Care service/outpatient care setting
- Candidate to be knowledgeable in Managed Care and Health Insurance in the State of New Jersey
