Job Summary
Ambulatory Care Assistant in an outpatient clinic setting provides clerical and clinical support to medical staff. Primary duties include supporting providers and staff to meet patient needs, completing requisitions or forms for patient examination or testing, assisting with documentation and test results, administering prescribed medications under supervision, performing POCT tests and maintaining quality control logs, scheduling tests and appointments, acting as a chaperone during examinations, ensuring patient records and test results are available, and contributing to inventory, registration, and billing processes. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, MA program graduate or equivalent clinical experience, BLS certification within 30 days of hire, and background checks; preferred qualifications include MA registration/certification. This role is based in Morgantown, WV in the WVU Health System network and involves working in a normal clinical outpatient environment with potential exposure to biohazards. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program OR graduate of the Med Ed Program OR one (1) year of clinical experience
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire
- State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable) as required for regulated areas
