Job Summary
Ambulance & Events Volunteer role in Lumsden, NZ. Volunteers provide care and support to patients through journeys that may begin with a 111 call and end with referral, on-scene treatment, or transport to a medical facility. As an Events Volunteer, duties may include coverage of local and international sports events, school fairs, or concerts. The role includes NZQA-recognised training and ongoing online/classroom training over ~6–9 months. Key requirements include a clean NZ driver’s licence (or completed NZTA driving course), being 18+, NZ citizenship or permanent residency, a First Aid certificate (level 2 preferred), a clean police record, ability to pass assessments and interview, and availability for regular duty and training.
Required Qualifications
- A full and clean NZ driver's licence for at least 12 months or have completed an approved NZTA advanced driving course
- To be 18 years of age or over
- New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency status
- A First Aid certificate level 2 is preferred, but training will be provided
- A clean police record
- Ability to pass assessments (physical, health questionnaire, literacy and numeracy) and interview
- Availability for regular duties and training (approx. two 12-hour shifts and one training session per month)
