Job Summary
The Ambulance Dispatch Supervisor manages the EMS dispatch center's daily operations to ensure efficient coordination of medical transport services. Responsibilities include supervising dispatch staff, monitoring call handling and response times, ensuring compliance with EMS regulations, coordinating ambulance deployment, and providing training and performance evaluations. The role requires strong communication skills, decision-making, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certification in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) required (or ability to obtain)
- Minimum 3–5 years of EMS dispatch experience
Desired Qualifications
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of dispatch systems, CAD software, and radio communications
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and multitasking skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
Additional Requirements
- Must have ambulance, 911 dispatch, or EMT experience
