Job Summary
Ambulance Care Assistant in Durham for EMED Group, supporting police and professionals in transporting service users to and from healthcare facilities. Role may be carried out alone or as part of a two- or three-person team; requires a full manual UK driving licence and comprehensive training. Main duties include safe vehicle operation, assisting service users with challenging behaviour or mental health issues, liaising with hospital staff and police during conveyance to and from locations such as hospitals, homes and prisons, lifting and securing patients, handover to staff, and maintaining a clean, safe ambulance. Required Qualifications
- Full manual UK driving licence with less than 6 points
- Committed to patient care and ability to build rapport with patients
- Effective communicator in challenging circumstances
- Calm, considerate, careful driver with up to six penalty points
- Natural flair for team working and collaboration
- Physically fit for patient handling and restraint when required
- Ability to problem solve and identify changes in patient behaviour in demanding situations
