Job Summary
Support police and other professionals by transporting vulnerable service users between hospitals, homes, prisons, and medical settings. Ensure safe and responsible driving while assisting patients with challenging behavior, including physical intervention and restraint when required. Handle patient transfers between beds, stretchers, and chairs, and manage lifting, securing, and loading of service users into and out of the ambulance. Liaise with hospital staff and maintain the vehicle's safety, cleanliness, and tidy condition. Work as part of a team, often alone or in groups of two or three, to convey patients to appropriate treatment centers and hand them over to staff upon arrival.
Required Qualifications
- Full manual UK driving licence
- Full manual UK driving licence with less than 6 points
- No more than six penalty points on your license
- Contract: Permanent/Full time - 4 on 4 off/ Monday - Sunday
- Be physically fit for patient handling, moving and occasionally, patient restraint when required
- Able to problem solve and identify keys changes in patients' behaviour whilst working demanding situations
