Job Summary
Safely drive patients to and from healthcare appointments while providing reassurance, support, and compassionate care throughout their journey. Assist with mobility needs, including safe lifting, use of specialist equipment, and transferring patients to and from vehicles or their homes. Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and healthcare staff, maintaining dignity, respect, and patient confidentiality at all times. Carry out daily vehicle checks, keep equipment clean per Infection Prevention and Control procedures, and accurately record incidents or journey details. Work a 40.25-hour week on a 4-on/4-off rota in Bodmin.
Required Qualifications
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence
- Right to Work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS Check
- Satisfactory Employment and Character References
- A Satisfactory Medical Assessment
- Have basic IT knowledge
- Follow procedures and protect patient confidentiality
- Stay calm under pressure
- Are reliable and punctual
- Communicate clearly and kindly both in person and in writing
- Are caring and compassionate
- Have good physical fitness for moving and handling patients
- Attend mandatory training on Safeguarding children and adults
- Ensure they are familiar with their and the organisations requirements under relevant legislation
- Adhere to all relevant national and local policies, procedures, and professional codes
- Report any concerns to the appropriate authority
- Maintaining professional boundaries as a Person in a Position of Trust (PiPoT)
- Successful candidates will also need to successfully complete a two-week mandatory training course on commencement of employment
