Job Summary
Drive patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities, either independently or with a colleague. Assist in transporting end-of-life patients with high empathy, while building rapport through effective communication with patients and their relatives. Perform physical duties including lifting, securing, and transferring patients between beds, stretchers, and chairs in hospital and medical settings. Ensure the ambulance remains safe, clean, and tidy. Hand over patients to appropriate staff at treatment centres or to family at home. Work flexible shifts between 05:00am and 00:00, Monday to Sunday, with a full UK manual driving licence and Enhanced DBS check required. Full training provided.
Required Qualifications
- full UK manual driving licence
- good degree of physical fitness for manual handling
- valid UK manual driving licence, (6 points maximum)
- able to work flexible shifts between 05:00am and 00:00, Monday to Sunday (with notice)
- committed to patient care
- effective communicator
- empathetic with others in what can often be emotional circumstances
- physically fit for patient handling and moving
- Enhanced DBS check
- natural flair for team working and collaboration
