Job Summary
Ambassador role enforcing City of Omaha downtown parking regulations. Patrols assigned routes on foot (3-5 miles daily) to ensure compliance with parking ordinances, informs the public about regulations, and uses license plate recognition (LPR) to monitor time limits. Responsibilities include identifying vehicles in violation, issuing warnings and citations, and coordinating immobilization/booting or towing as needed. Responds to parking-violation calls, observes hazardous conditions, and reports issues with signs or road markings. Requires ability to process immobilizations or towing, use a smartphone to issue citations, and work in extreme cold, heat, or high winds. Must be honest, professional, dependable, and capable of effective written and verbal communication; requires valid driver’s license and successful background check and drug test.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Pass a background check and drug test
- Patrol on foot 3-5 miles daily
- Proficient with MS Office with emphasis on Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Integrity, motivation, dependability, professionalism
