Job Summary
Prepare food following recipe cards and production standards while cooking menu items in cooperation with kitchen staff. Adhere to Colwen brand standards, date and rotate stored items, and ensure proper time and temperature controls. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hygiene codes; assist with dish washing, equipment operation, and prep work for the next shift. Check par levels, note stock shortages, and perform end-of-shift breakdowns. Answer and follow Executive or Sous Chef instructions to ensure timely, high-quality output. This role supports the Food and Beverage team at Renaissance Boston Patriot Place, a Colwen Hotels Property.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic understanding of or ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for workplace safety
- Basic understanding of or ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to work quickly and efficient
- Ability to work well with a team
- Ability to maintain personal hygiene
- ServSafe/Safe Food handling certification as required by individual property
