Job Summary
Load and start Age Ovens, operate an overhead crane, and perform the Stretching Operation by inputting parameters and monitoring parts for over- or under-stretch conditions. Monitor and remove press scrap, stage racks, load metal and spacers, and conduct saw operations while visually inspecting work areas. Maintain a clean, clutter-free workstation and wear all required PPE when working near moving mechanical parts in a loud, air-conditioned-free environment. Inform the Supervisor of equipment or other problems and assist with special projects as assigned. Complete training on 1st shift before working the 2nd shift Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED
- Must also pass a skills-based test
- Must pass a company background check and drug screen
- Must be able to read and understand a tape measure
- Must be able to operate the overhead crane
- Must be able to drive Combi/Forklift
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
- Must be able to read and understand shop orders
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively
- Self-motivated
- Self-starter
- Must be able to work in a safe manner always wearing all required Proper Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Must comply with safety policies and procedures
- Must be able to accept feedback from the Team Captain to ensure the bundles meet safety standards
- Must be available for 2nd Shift Position Monday to Friday (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) (40+ hours)
- Saturday could be scheduled as needed
- Training will be on 1st shift Monday to Thursday (7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Friday and Saturday scheduled as needed
