Job Summary
Alternative Investments Analyst role within Cigna Investment Management, hybrid in Bloomfield, CT. Responsibilities include sourcing and evaluating limited partnership fund commitments and direct co-investment opportunities; assisting in underwriting by analyzing fund strategies, track records, market dynamics and risk considerations; preparing clear investment reports and presentations; contributing to negotiations by reviewing legal documents and coordinating with internal/external partners; monitoring fund performance and maintaining dialogue with general partners; researching private equity market trends and sharing insights to inform decisions; assisting with financial reporting, quarterly updates, and portfolio reviews. Requires a BA/BS in finance or related field, 5+ years of investment experience, 3+ years in credit/private equity/alternatives, strong analytical and communication skills, proficiency in Excel/Word/PowerPoint, ability to travel up to 20%, and a willingness to work in a hybrid arrangement in Bloomfield, CT. Preferred CFA, CPA, MBA or other advanced designation.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in finance, accounting, or another quantitative field
- 5+ years of overall business or investment experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience in credit, private equity, or alternative investments
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Technical proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed environment and manage multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity, and comfort navigating ambiguity
- Ability to accommodate both seasonal and ad-hoc travel (up to 20%)
- Preferred: CFA, CPA, MBA, or other advanced financial designation
