Job Summary
Alterations Specialists are responsible for completing all fittings and alterations to the high standards of David’s Bridal and reports to the Store Manager. S/he is responsible for exemplifying friendly, knowledgeable, and technical expertise and providing superior customer service. Responsibilities include welcoming customers, managing customer flow to deliver a five-star experience, maintaining service levels, addressing customer concerns, promoting alteration services and personalization options, assisting stylists in closing sales regarding gown fit, maintaining an organized alterations room, ensuring garment quality before delivery, handling pricing and inventory processes, and upholding store standards and dress code policy. Physical duties include standing/walking for extended periods and light lifting; prior sewing experience and POS familiarity are valued. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years retail experience in apparel; sewing experience preferred. Compensation is hourly with posted ranges and location-specific pay. Concrete pay range: $20-$24 per hour, with a standard base pay posted as the Hiring MinRate and Hiring MaxRate; rate varies by location and experience. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment
- Prior sewing experience, preferably in bridal and/or special occasion production environment
- Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system is a plus
