Alterations Specialist

Job Summary
Alterations Specialists perform fittings and alterations to exacting standards, assist with gown customization and tailoring, support stylists in closing sales, and maintain a pristine alterations area. Responsibilities include welcoming customers, managing customer flow to deliver a five-star service experience, communicating effectively about alteration options and garment fit, inspecting garments for quality before delivery, handling pricing and inventory related to alterations, and upholding store standards and dress code. Required skills include sewing experience (bridal or special occasion preferred), retail experience in a clothing environment, comfort with POS systems, strong customer service and problem-solving abilities, and ability to coordinate with leadership to resolve issues. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy in transactions, and maintaining an organized alterations room to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment
- Prior sewing experience required, preferably in bridal and/or special occasion production environment
- Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system is a plus
