Job Summary
Manage all alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning of garments to company standards while maintaining quality control guidelines and inspecting all items before final delivery. Greets and escorts alterations customers to and from appointments, assists stylists in closing sales by consulting on gown fit, and resolves customer service issues swiftly. Maintain the alterations room, process special orders, ensure accurate pricing, and support cash wrap transactions. Perform duties as assigned by store management with occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Join for weekend shifts only with minimal weekday hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent degree
- 1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment
- Prior sewing experience required
- Prior experience in a bridal and/or special occasion production environment
- Ability to lift/and or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to see up close and at a distance
- Ability to use peripheral vision and depth perception
- Ability to look at, read, and use a computer, electronic devices and phones for long periods of time
- Manual dexterity to perform non-selling responsibilities, such as use of POS (Point of Sale) terminals, counting money, steaming garments, accessing computers and receiving or initiating telephone calls
- Manual dexterity to sew and perform fittings to David's Bridal standards, as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to reach for tools and objects with hands and arms
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to bend, twist and stand
- Ability to move throughout the store
- Ability to talk to and hear customers
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system is a plus
