Job Summary
Manage all alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning of garments to company standards while maintaining quality control guidelines. Greet, escort, and resolve customer service issues for alterations appointments, proactively addressing concerns and escalating when necessary. Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting customers on gown fit and customization, ensuring accurate pricing and inventory management for special orders. Process transactions with accuracy, maintain the alterations room organization, and support all cash wrap behaviors. Uphold store-standards, dress code policies, and operational checklists to deliver a flawless shopping experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent degree
- 1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment
- Prior sewing experience required
- Prior experience in a bridal and/or special occasion production environment
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to see up close and at a distance
- Ability to use peripheral vision and depth perception
- Ability to look at, read, and use a computer, electronic devices and phones for long periods of time
- Manual dexterity to perform non-selling responsibilities, such as use of POS (Point of Sale) terminals, counting money, steaming garments, accessing computers and receiving or initiating telephone calls
- Manual dexterity to sew and perform fittings to David's Bridal standards, as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system is a plus
