Alterations Fitter

Conduct alterations, resizing, and restyling of all merchandise to meet Saks Fifth Avenue quality standards equal to or better than original construction. Alter seams, vented or unvented, take in shoulder blades, reduce chest, narrow shoulders, rotate sleeves, shorten sleeves, shorten back, shorten collar, square shoulders, shorten coats, re-line coats, or remake inside or outside pockets. Operate and maintain all sewing equipment while self-inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards are met. Complete assigned tasks as directed by Supervisor, Lead, or Manager, interpreting written and oral instructions. Requires experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment, ability to read English, and proficiency in all units of measure.
