Job Summary
Greet customers sincerely and thank every person while measuring, fitting, marking, and pinning garments according to specifications. Disassemble, sew, and reassemble women's formal dresses and tailored clothing using an iron and steamer to prepare finished items. Repair damaged or defective merchandise and maintain a clean department and work area throughout the shift. Perform basic to moderately difficult sewing and alteration procedures on diverse styles ranging from beaded formal wear to tailored garments.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must be professionally competent in all basic and most advanced alterations
- Measure, fit, mark, and pin garments according to customer specifications
- Disassemble, sew and/or reassemble garments according to measurements taken during fitting
- use iron and steamer to prepare garments for customers
- Repair damaged or defective merchandise
- Garment work may range from basic to moderately difficult sewing/alteration procedures
