Job Summary
Greet customers sincerely, measure, fit, mark, and pin garments according to specifications, then disassemble, sew, or reassemble clothing using an iron and steamer. Repair damaged or defective merchandise while maintaining a clean department and work area. Handle diverse women's garments ranging from formal dresses with beading to tailored clothing, managing procedures from basic to moderately difficult sewing tasks. This role contributes to Von Maur's reputation as America's Leading Department Store, supporting our family-owned culture focused on legendary customer service and employee growth.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must be professionally competent in all basic and most advanced alterations
- Measure, fit, mark, and pin garments according to customer specifications
- Disassemble, sew and/or reassemble garments according to measurements taken during fitting
- use iron and steamer to prepare garments for customers
- Repair damaged or defective merchandise
- Garment work may range from basic to moderately difficult sewing/alteration procedures
- Own the customer experience
