Job Summary
Alteration Staff will be part of the tailoring team, delivering customer service and tailoring expertise. Responsibilities include applying Saks Fifth Avenue customer service principles, assisting during fittings with alteration decisions, maintaining a high level of customer relationships, following all policies, operating sewing and tailoring equipment, and contributing to a clean, safe work environment while supporting department initiatives and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ fitting and tailoring experience in high-end merchandise
- Ability to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garments
- Possession of strong technical background in specialty skills such as leather, knits, double face, beading, fine tailoring, buttonholes etc. is desired and a benefit
- Ability to use all standard sewing, pressing & spotting equipment
- Knowledge of Alterations industry includes fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
