Job Summary
Oversee preventative maintenance of systems, buildings, and grounds while managing contracts with external experts and contractors. Lead capital projects by handling bids, selecting contractors, and managing expenditures within allocated budgets, ensuring timely submission of status reports. Supervise maintenance operations through an organized work order tracking system and conduct quality assurance inspections to uphold high service standards. Perform safety reviews of the campus to ensure compliance with regulations, disaster response protocols, and security service procedures. Develop job descriptions and manage personnel in relevant departments, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance assessments. Act as an integral member of the management team within this enriching assisted living and memory care community.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 6 years' related experience in facilities management, construction, engineering, property management and maintenance
- At least 3 years in health care or retirement community environment
- Advanced understanding of building codes, life safety regulations, and Cal-OSHA standards
- Journeyman-level expertise in HVAC/boiler systems, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in the English language
- Valid driver's license
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Familiarity with safety policies and procedures
- Good vision and hearing
- Full mobility on steps and ladders
- Adequate dexterity and mobility in both arms (or mechanical alternatives) to operate hand and power tools, gauges, and valves safely
- Completion of a background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift, push, pull, up to 75lbs
- Ability to encounter challenging environmental conditions, such as dirt, noise, heights, and confined spaces
