Job Summary
Continuous Improvement Specialist focused on lean manufacturing and operational excellence drives measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, cycle time, and inventory. Works with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to identify and eliminate waste, bottlenecks, and process variation; supports implementation of lean systems, value stream mapping, and standardized work; acts as a change agent in kaizen/rapid improvement events; sustains pre- and post-event standard work; facilitates root cause analysis and corrective actions; participates in daily management, Gemba walks, and visual performance reviews; maintains visual management systems (Glasswall, 5S, SMED, Kamishibai boards); supports line balancing, workplace organization, ergonomic improvements, and flow optimization; trains and coaches employees on lean concepts and tools; available for on-site support and occasional irregular hours.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a related field or minimum of 4 years of experience in continuous improvement/lean manufacturing or process improvement
- Demonstrated manufacturing experience with lean principles (waste reduction, 5S, visual management, standard work, problem-solving)
- Ability to work across teams, influence change, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and unit-based measurements
- Strong written and verbal communication; capable of presenting data and supporting training in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with reporting/metrics support
- Commitment to regular on-site attendance and flexibility to support plant needs (including occasional irregular hours)
