Job Summary
Paraprofessional/CNA for Extended Year Summer Program in Springfield Public Schools. Responsibilities include providing instructional assistance under the direction of the teacher to small groups or individual students, performing clerical tasks, assisting with feeding and personal hygiene as needed, and performing duties assigned by the Site Coordinator. Requires experience as a Special Education Paraprofessional within Springfield Public Schools, familiarity with extended year/summer program settings, and full availability for the 6-week schedule (July 6–July 30, 2026) with mandatory staff training and program coordination oversight. Emphasis on continuity of instruction and social/emotional development for students; district-wide nondiscrimination and Title IX policies are noted.
Required Qualifications
- Presently employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Springfield Public Schools.
- Has not received a layoff notice.
- Preference given to paraprofessionals presently working in the same program during the academic year.
- Preference given to paraprofessionals who have worked in the extended year program.
- Availability required for entire program work schedule.
- Must have a secured position for the 2026-2027 school year
