Job Summary
K-8 teachers needed to deliver Direct Instruction with reading by phonics, penmanship, spelling, grammar and writing, plus mathematics, science, music, and art. Role includes working with Academic Coaches to support lateral-entry teachers, pursuing an approved Residency plan for an Initial Teacher License, and compensation aligned with the North Carolina State Salary Scale for Bachelor's Degrees (with potential additional Teacher Supplement). Responsibilities emphasize engaging diverse elementary learners, maintaining behavioral and academic standards, and inspiring student growth while leveraging a research-backed curriculum.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in education with valid teaching certificate from North Carolina or partnering state in the area for which candidate is applying OR a Bachelor’s degree in another subject area interested in receiving an approved plan for Residency (previously referred to as "lateral entry") with an Initial Teacher License. The Roger Bacon Academy will assist in this process for selected candidates.
