Job Summary

Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in assisted living under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrate competency in age and population-specific standards related to physical and psychosocial needs, perform testing to evaluate resident status, and administer medications or treatments as ordered. Ensure resident health, comfort, and safety while documenting interactions, medication outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary needs. Counsel residents and family members on prevention and treatment plans, establish effective working relationships within an interdisciplinary care team, and develop self-care programs. Requires current licensure as a practical nurse in the state of practice.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Requires current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting
  • Must possess the ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status
  • Must be able to provide the care needed
  • Must ensure the health, comfort and safety of residents
  • Must be able to contribute to the assessment of residents
  • Must be able to administer medications or treatments as ordered
  • Must be able to provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
  • Must be able to document resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary
  • Must be skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with resident, health care providers, and the public
  • Must be able to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
  • Must be able to counsel residents, family members and/or resident advocate, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician on prevention and treatment plans
  • Must have knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program
  • Must be available for 8 Hours - Evening Shifts
  • Must be available for Part time

  • Sub-acute care experience
  • Medical/surgical experience
