Job Summary
Co-op/Intern role in optical algorithms and analytics within the R&D team of a photonics/fibre optics company. Responsibilities include numerical and statistical analysis of small and large data sets, developing algorithms to control active elements, software development and test engineering, and experimental validation of design principles. Collaborates with firmware, hardware, and optical design/verification teams to learn about a broad range of disciplines involved in product development. Skills include proficiency in software development (commonly Python and VB.Net), strong verbal/written communication, and enthusiasm to learn and contribute to innovative photonic technologies (e.g., LCoS, MEMS). The role offers exposure to a history of co-op placements and potential for future opportunities within the company.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Physics, Nanotechnology engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, Mathematical-Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
