Job Summary
Responsible for clinical monitoring, coordination, and implementation of the behavioral health program in accordance with policies; serve as liaison between medical and facility staff regarding Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT); engage patients in therapeutic interventions to address substance use concerns; facilitate group and individual MAT sessions; assist with suicide prevention; document encounters using SOAPE note format; assist with discharge planning for MAT patients; participate in interdisciplinary meetings and QA committees; contribute to QA standards and audits; participate in medical unit committees; supports a full-time schedule (Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm) at the Onondaga County Justice Center in Syracuse, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Must be certified as an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC-T, CASAC, CASAC2)
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other related Human Services degree with a concentration in drug and alcohol coursework
