Job Summary
Assess architectural and engineering drawings for compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA) and prepare BCA compliance reports. Provide technical advice on fire safety, accessibility, egress, and building classifications while liaising with architects, engineers, certifiers, and local authorities to resolve issues. Review Australian Standards and assist in developing Performance-Based Solutions for Development Applications and Construction Certificates. Attend project meetings to guide compliance throughout design and construction phases. Requires a degree in Building Surveying, Architecture, or Engineering with at least five years of Australian NCC experience.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Building Surveying, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with the National Construction Code
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards, and accessibility requirements
- Experience working on residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments in Australia
- Familiarity with state-based regulations (NSW, VIC, QLD, etc.)
- Experience liaising with private certifiers and local councils
