Job Summary
Albany Medical College seeks a board-certified or board-eligible Adult Cardiac Surgeon to join its academic cardiac surgery program. The role encompasses a broad spectrum of adult cardiac procedures (CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic surgery, TAVR) within a collaborative health system, with teaching responsibilities for residents, medical students, and fellows, opportunities for clinical research and quality initiatives, and an academic appointment commensurate with experience. Required Qualifications
- MD/DO or equivalent in Medicine
- Board certification or eligibility in Adult Cardiac Surgery
- At least 2 years of clinical experience post fellowship training
- Eligible for New York medical licensure
- Ability to obtain academic appointment and participate in teaching, research, and quality initiatives
- Strong communication and collaborative/multidisciplinary approach to patient care
- Evidence of clinical leadership and ability to mentor/train medical students, residents, and fellows
- Demonstrated experience in adult cardiac surgical procedures (CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic surgery, TAVR)
- Current operative case log or equivalent demonstration of post-fellowship activity
