Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive adult cardiac surgery services including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, and transcatheter aortic valve replacements. Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while actively participating in program development, quality improvement, and clinical research. Teach and mentor residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers within a collaborative academic environment. Manage a broad mix of elective and acute cases supported by strong cardiology and anesthesia teams. This role includes an academic appointment at Albany Medical College with rank commensurate with experience. Candidates must hold an MD/DO degree with board certification or eligibility in Adult Cardiac Surgery and at least two years of clinical experience post-fellowship. Submit a current operative case log and demonstrate research and teaching abilities.

Required Qualifications

  • MD/DO or related degree with board certification or eligibility in Adult Cardiac Surgery
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience post fellowship training
  • Clinically oriented with research experience and teaching abilities to be eligible for an academic appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor
  • Leadership qualities and assets
  • Strong communication skills, with a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care
  • Demonstrated experience in adult cardiac surgical procedures
  • Ability to provide a current operative case log
  • Ability to teach, mentor, and collaborate with medical students, medical residents, surgery fellows, and other healthcare providers
  • Eligible for academic appointment and medical licensure in the state of New York
