Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive adult cardiac surgery services including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, and transcatheter aortic valve replacements. Lead a collaborative team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while actively advancing the Cardiac Surgery program through teaching, quality improvement, and clinical research. Mentor residents, medical students, and fellows within a well-established academic appointment at Albany Medical College. Submit a current operative case log and demonstrate leadership in a multidisciplinary environment.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO or related degree with board certification or eligibility in Adult Cardiac Surgery
- At least 2 years of clinical experience post fellowship training
- Clinically oriented with research experience and teaching abilities to be eligible for an academic appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor
- Demonstrated experience in adult cardiac surgical procedures
- Ability to provide a current operative case log
- Ability to teach, mentor, and collaborate with medical students, medical residents, surgery fellows, and other healthcare providers
- Eligible for academic appointment and medical licensure in the state of New York
