Job Summary

Provide operational leadership for facilities, environmental services, dietary, supply chain, security, or transportation departments across Alaska healthcare organizations. Maintain safe, clean, functional environments while managing preventive maintenance, utilities, infrastructure, and building operations. Oversee food service, nutrition, purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships, planning for weather, transportation, and supply-chain disruptions. Support capital planning, renovations, construction, and equipment replacement while managing budgets, staffing, and performance. Lead emergency preparedness, disaster response, and regulatory readiness, collaborating with clinical, administrative, and executive leaders to ensure essential operations continue during severe weather, staffing shortages, or equipment failures. Coordinate housing, transportation, and logistics support as needed, building relationships with local vendors, Tribal partners, and community organizations to improve efficiency and service quality in remote settings.

Required Qualifications

  • Progressive experience in healthcare facilities, environmental services, food and nutrition, supply chain, materials management, security, safety, emergency preparedness, logistics, or another support services area
  • Previous leadership experience as a director, manager, supervisor, or comparable professional
  • Strong knowledge of the regulations, safety standards, and operational requirements relevant to the position
  • Experience managing teams, budgets, vendors, inventory, equipment, construction, or facilities
  • The ability to prioritize competing needs and respond calmly to operational challenges
  • Strong communication, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working collaboratively with clinical, administrative, financial, and executive departments
  • Experience supporting multiple facilities, remote locations, or geographically dispersed operations
  • Experience with rural hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, FQHCs, Tribal health organizations, regional health corporations, long-term care providers, or community healthcare organizations
  • Relevant education, certification, or technical credentials based on the position
  • A visible, dependable, practical, culturally respectful, and service-focused leadership style

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with emergency preparedness, life safety, infection-prevention support, or disaster response
  • Experience working with Alaska Native communities, Tribal health organizations, Indian Health Service programs, or tribally operated systems
  • Some opportunities may prefer credentials related to facilities management, safety, emergency preparedness, environmental services, food service, supply chain, construction, biomedical equipment, or another operational specialty
