Job Summary
Install, repair, or upgrade fire alarm systems, burglar alarms, and control panels at Walmart stores by mounting sensors, running low voltage cabling, and completing wiring according to building plans. Troubleshoot new installations to ensure operational compliance with local, county, state, or federal codes and legal requirements. Mount sensors in crawlspaces or attics, drill concrete walls, and operate lifts to work at heights while maintaining strict adherence to NFPA standards. Test all component devices and verify system functionality before finalizing work. This role requires extensive travel for up to two weeks at a time, including night shifts, and demands a valid driver's license with a clean record. Candidates must hold a Physical Security or Life Safety license and possess strong blueprint reading skills.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Current/valid state-required Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license in the applicable technology
- Experience reading blueprints and site maps
- Knowledge of NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72
- Excellent customer relationship and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in troubleshooting switches, and routers
- Certification to operate a BOOM or scissor lift, with the ability to work at heights
- Basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUI or DWI in the last three years)
Desired Qualifications
- NICET certification (Preferred, but not required)
- Experience with burglar alarms, access control, and CCTV is a plus
