Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •An active Secret security clearance
• •High school education or equivalency
• •Valid driver's license
• •Proof of insurance
• •Favorable driving history
• •One (1) year of general experience demonstrating: a) Any type of communication experience which provides knowledge of communications operations and procedures except for telephone switchboard operation or a communications clerk.
• •One (1) year of general experience demonstrating: b) Work that requires skill in the operation of a typewriter type keyboard, i.e., teletype, CRT, etc.
• •One (1) year of general experience demonstrating: c) The ability to professionally interact as a service provider to the general public, Government employees, and other law enforcement agencies over the telephone.
• •One (1) year of general experience demonstrating: d) The ability to read, understand and apply printed procedures, detailed orders, instructions and training material.
• •One (1) year of general experience demonstrating: e) The ability to maintain poise and self-control under stress.
• •One (1) year of general experience demonstrating: f) The ability to compose and write clear concise and accurate reports and messages.
• •One (1) year of general experience demonstrating: g) The ability to speak in a clear, distinct and understandable manner
• •One (1) year of specialized experience demonstrating: a) The operation of voice radio circuits
• •One (1) year of specialized experience demonstrating: b) Progressively greater knowledge of varied communication equipment operation
• •One (1) year of specialized experience demonstrating: c) The operations of personal computer type equipment, to include data input and retrieval functions
• •One (1) year of specialized experience demonstrating: d) The ability to handle stressful and / or life threatening situations similar to those in a police, fire, or EMS environment
• •Two (2) years of education above the high school level (in lieu of specialized experience)
• •Unaided or correctable hearing thresholds at 20dB or below in each ear for frequencies 500 Hz, 1000 Hz and 2000 Hz and 30 dB or below for frequencies up to 3000 Hz
• •Monocular or binocular vision, correctable to 20/20 (Snellen)
• •Ability to correctly and reliably see and distinguish between red, green, and blue colors
• •Ability to physically manipulate all equipment controls properly and expeditiously
• •Ability to push, pull, rotate, and twist switches, knobs, dials, buttons, levers, computer mice, and keyboard keys
• •Ability to insert and remove plugs and / or connectors
• •Ability to thread tape machines and insert, eject, remove, and place computer disks, CDs, DVDs, video and audio tapes and cassettes, and paper in office appliances and storage containers
• •Ability to fully operate equipment at any level that is within reach when sitting or standing
• •Ability to grasp tightly tube shaped items such as handles, flashlights, handrails, bottles, cans, straps and rope
• •Ability to move about the area of operations in the operations center without colliding with furniture, equipment, and other persons
• •Ability to traverse hallways and enter and leave buildings without assistance from another person
• •Favorable Criminal and Credit Background Check
• •Favorable Drug and alcohol screening results
• •U.S. Citizenship
• •A favorable National Agency Check (NAC) Security Clearance up to (Secret)
• •Electronic Security Systems (ESS) training
• •Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) training
• •Lenel Alarm System training
