Job Summary
Executive finance leadership role overseeing the university’s financial services. Reports to the Vice President for Business and Finance and supervises General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Grants & Contracts Accounting, Office of Student Accounts, and the Cashier’s Office. Responsibilities include coordinating with Budget Office on annual and long-range budgets, ensuring expenditures stay within approved budgets, maintaining accounting records and bank accounts, managing funds receipting and disbursement, overseeing restricted funds and auxiliary operations, coordinating with auditors and financial planners, and supervising cash, investment, and credit risk management. Requires extensive knowledge of accounting, auditing, budgeting, and financial management, plus ability to design and evaluate procedures, prepare budgets and financial statements, and supervise staff. Higher education finance experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, or certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Five years of progressive experience in college or university accounting, financial management, or business management
