Job Summary
The Ala Carte Cook is responsible for preparing food for two ala carte restaurants, assisting culinary management and other cooks in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have a minimum of six months kitchen experience, possess required food handling permits, and demonstrate the ability to follow recipes, ensure high food standards, and handle food presentation. The role requires organization, positive communication skills, and multitasking ability. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, standing long hours, and working in varying environmental conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of six months experience in a kitchen
- Certification: Any food handling permits as required by state or local law
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, day or night shifts, and overtime as necessary
- Basic knowledge of food and its cooking methods
- Ability to follow recipes and create high quality dishes
- Ability to prepare food items as requested in a timely manner
- Ability to determine food and supply needs based on business requirements
- Food presentation skills
- Knowledge of how to operate standard kitchen equipment safely
