Job Summary
Plan, organize, and lead recreational activities, outings, and music programs tailored to residents' interests and abilities. Assess residents' preferences and needs to develop personalized activity plans while fostering an inclusive environment that encourages socialization. Collaborate with staff and family members to enhance quality of life and maintain a safe, supportive atmosphere during all events. Track and document residents' participation and progress in activities. Stay informed about new activity ideas, trends, and best practices in senior recreation. This position requires a background screening as mandated by Florida law.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in recreational therapy, activities coordination, or a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Creativity and enthusiasm to inspire and motivate seniors
- Ability to plan and execute diverse activities for a senior population
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in senior care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- additional certification in recreational therapy or related field
