Job Summary
Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines while adhering to strict food safety and sanitation regulations. Ensure all food is prepared in an appealing manner, maintaining proper temperatures and rotating inventory to prevent spoilage. Collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus, order supplies, and accommodate individual dietary needs such as low-sodium, diabetic, and gluten-free restrictions. Work closely with kitchen staff and residents or customers to address preferences and feedback, ensuring meals are served on time and meet quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment and assist in training new staff as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-2 years of cooking experience in a healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or food service setting
