Job Summary
Conduct morning routines, escort children to and from school, and provide after-school supervision for a 13-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter. Prepare healthy meals and snacks, assist with homework, and plan age-appropriate activities including outdoor play, crafts, and sports. Support evening routines and bedtime preparation while maintaining open communication with parents regarding schedules and development. Work a split weekday schedule from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM to 8:00 PM, with additional compensated hours available for light housekeeping and household support. Join the family for summer trips to Long Island, utilizing provided private accommodations and a family vehicle. Start early September in Chelsea, NYC, as a long-term career nanny.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of recent professional nanny experience
- Experience caring for school-aged children
- Ability to provide a long-term commitment to the family
- Experience assisting with homework and creating a positive learning environment
- Ability to prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with parents
- Ability to confidently manage daily routines, schedules, and extracurricular activities with minimal direction
- Willingness to work a split weekday schedule
- Excellent professional references
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred
- Comfortable navigating Manhattan using public transportation
- Valid passport and willingness to travel with the family occasionally are preferred
- Experience working with children with ADHD is a plus
- Spanish language skills are a plus
- Background in education, tutoring, or curriculum development is a plus
