Job Summary

Conduct morning routines, escort children to and from school, and provide after-school supervision for a 13-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter. Prepare healthy meals and snacks, assist with homework, and plan age-appropriate activities including outdoor play, crafts, and sports. Support evening routines and bedtime preparation while maintaining open communication with parents regarding schedules and development. Work a split weekday schedule from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM to 8:00 PM, with additional compensated hours available for light housekeeping and household support. Join the family for summer trips to Long Island, utilizing provided private accommodations and a family vehicle. Start early September in Chelsea, NYC, as a long-term career nanny.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of recent professional nanny experience
  • Experience caring for school-aged children
  • Ability to provide a long-term commitment to the family
  • Experience assisting with homework and creating a positive learning environment
  • Ability to prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with parents
  • Ability to confidently manage daily routines, schedules, and extracurricular activities with minimal direction
  • Willingness to work a split weekday schedule
  • Excellent professional references
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Desired Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred
  • Comfortable navigating Manhattan using public transportation
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel with the family occasionally are preferred
  • Experience working with children with ADHD is a plus
  • Spanish language skills are a plus
  • Background in education, tutoring, or curriculum development is a plus
  • Warm, engaging, and nurturing with a genuine passion for working with children
  • Interested in building a lasting relationship with the family and becoming a trusted extension of the parents
  • Proactive and able to anticipate the family's needs without requiring constant direction
  • Kind, patient, and respectful in their interactions with both children and parents
