Job Summary

Develop knowledge and skills to become a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator by directing day-to-day facility functions in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. Manage operations while relating to residents and families, including those who are physically or mentally ill, disabled, elderly, or emotionally upset. Apply understanding of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, and laws to ensure compliance with regulations governing long-term care facilities. Adapt to complex environments and handle pressure effectively during the program, which varies in length based on state regulations and preceptor evaluations.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years' experience in long-term care
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to thrive in a complex environment
  • Ability to relate to and work with physically and/or mentally ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people professionally and respectfully
  • Ability to understand and follow regulations
  • Ability to adapt and handle pressure
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in long-term care or related field with supervisory background
  • Bachelor's degree specifically in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration (or related field)
