Job Summary
Greet every customer warmly and assist them with their needs throughout the store while accurately selecting groceries ordered online, prioritizing the highest quality produce, meat, and fresh products. Select, scan, and bag items from all temperature zones, ensuring products maintain proper temperature throughout the fulfillment process. Place gathered orders in storage, retrieve them promptly, cart them to the holding area, and load groceries into customer vehicles. Tender orders through the POS, process credit card payments, and substitute products upon request or when items are unavailable. Continually monitor incoming online orders to ensure prompt, on-time fulfillment, answer phones and emails promptly, and pitch in with other tasks or special projects. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, physical stamina for standing and walking, and the ability to safely use sharp knives or operate a delivery vehicle.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
- Exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment
- Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
- Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties
- Ability to follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines
- Must complete a pre employment drug screen
