Job Summary
Accurately select groceries ordered online by customers, choosing the highest quality produce, meat, and other fresh products across all departments. Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting every customer warmly, answering phones and emails, and tendering orders through the POS while processing credit card payments. Select, scan, and bag items from all temperature zones, ensuring products maintain proper temperature throughout the fulfillment process and placing gathered orders in storage for customer pickup. Substitute products for customers upon request or when items are unavailable, and lift, carry, and load groceries into customer vehicles. Monitor incoming online orders to ensure prompt, on-time fulfillment while following Hy-Vee's dress code and hygiene standards. This role supports Hy-Vee's mission of making customers' lives easier, healthier, and happier through a workforce committed to a helpful smile in every aisle.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
- Exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment
- Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
- Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties
- Ability to follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines
- Must complete a pre employment drug screen
