Job Summary
Greet customers warmly, assist them with needs, and accurately select groceries ordered online across all departments. Scan, bag, and place items from temperature zones into storage, ensuring products maintain proper heat while carting orders to holding areas. Tender orders through the POS, process payments, and substitute unavailable items upon request. Monitor incoming orders for prompt fulfillment, answer phones and emails, and pitch in with special projects. Work independently in a fast-paced retail environment with limited supervision, managing multiple tasks and deadlines while adhering to all safety and hygiene guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
- Exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment
- Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
- Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties
- Ability to follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines
- Must complete a pre employment drug screen
