Job Summary
Conduct daily self-inspections of the airfield, terminal, and grounds to enforce compliance with Federal safety regulations and airport rules. Document deficiencies discovered during inspections by issuing work orders and follow up with responsible parties for corrections. Respond to airside emergencies and coordinate responding personnel while adhering to National Incident Management System standards. Ensure facilities and activities comply with safety and security requirements of the TSA, FAA, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and FDOT. Conduct terminal and landside material condition and operational efficiency inspections via scheduled intervals and continuous surveillance. Partner with airlines, FAA tower controllers, FBOs, air cargo companies, and other entities having official business on the airside. Verify that airside systems including lighting, beacons, navigational aids, signage, and pavement surfaces are fully functional. Represent the organization internally and externally by supporting strategic direction and priorities.
Required Qualifications
- general knowledge of the aviation rules and regulations, specifically 14 CFR Parts 139, and 77, 49 CFR PAR 1542, and 1544
- database management, Excel, Internet and MS Office skills
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with all audiences at various levels of the organization
- Strong understanding of current aviation-related issues and factors impacting the airport environment
- Capable of coordinating resources and people to mitigate solutions in difficult or emergency situations
- Knowledge of airside operations, including daily inspections, field condition reporting, irregular operations, and response to aircraft emergencies
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Management or a closely related field
- Two (2) year of experience working at a commercial service airport with primary duties associated with the compliance of Part 139, including performing airfield inspections
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge
- Florida Class E Driver's License
