Airport Operations Duty Manager - LAX

Job Summary
Manage day-to-day terminal operations at LAX by coordinating airline and vendor activities, monitoring flight operations, and performing daily walkthrough inspections to document deficiencies and schedule corrective actions. Direct the safe operation and maintenance of baggage handling systems, passenger boarding bridges, and other terminal assets while overseeing vendor supervision and ensuring strict SOP compliance. Assist in preparing annual operating budgets, manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System, and respond to operational disruptions and emergencies. Work 7 days a week, 365 days annually, reporting directly to Terminal Managers.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as an Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager or Assistant Manager of Airport Terminal or Airline-Station
- Demonstrated ability to handle all aspects of Terminal Management including Operations, Maintenance, Environment, Finance, Public Relations, and Vendor Resources Management
- Proven ability to interface with Key Stakeholders, including DHS, CBP, TSA, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate effective communications in a multi-stakeholder environment (e.g., Airport, Airlines, stakeholders, vendors, etc.)
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation principles, concepts, and applications
- Experience maintaining or overseeing the maintenance of equipment or facilities, preferably in an airport environment
- Possess strong maintenance aptitude to support maintenance planning, spare parts inventory control, rapid response to emergency repair requirements, preventive maintenance programs, equipment monitoring, diagnostics, and reporting for assigned equipment
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret budgets, blueprints, drawings, technical manuals, industry periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist
- Ability to review/write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, vendors, clients, customers, and the general public
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS office tools
- Must possess a valid Drivers' License and clean driving record as a condition of employment
- Must be eligible to obtain all Airport staff access and security clearances from the Authorities
- Must be available during all hours of operation, 7 days each week, 365 days annually

- Periodic US Domestic travel may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Local experience at LAX will be considered a plus
- Four-year degree in Airport, Aviation, Aerospace, or Business Administration, or related field is desired
- Demonstrated aviation experience is a plus
- Maintenance experience, preferably in an airport environment, is desired
- AP or AAE designation will be considered a plus
