Job Summary
Airport General Maintenance Worker III performs a lead-level, hands-on role maintaining airport buildings, facilities, and equipment. Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and painting tasks; interpreting blueprints and plans; operating various hand and power tools and heavy equipment; ensuring safety and quality on projects; providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to subordinates or a first-level supervisor; and working graveyard shifts with rotating schedules including days, afternoons, weekends, and holidays. Requires broad craft-trades knowledge, ability to read plans, and commitment to safety and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool diploma
- six years of experience
- demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools
- ability to operate heavy equipment
- valid driver’s license
- knowledge of city/state codes and ordinances pertaining to the trade
- ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, job orders and diagrams
