Job Summary
Airplane Equipment Installation Design Engineer (Associate, Experienced or Senior) at The Boeing Company in North Charleston, SC. Develops and maintains basic electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas) and basic cable/wire harness designs. Supports engineering disposition on discrepancies, follows documented processes for design and manufacture, and assists in data gathering for statements of work and supplier capabilities. Reviews functional and physical input for integrated design and system architecture, and can work under general direction. Proficiency with CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX) and knowledge of model-based definition, engineering drawings, and data analysis are expected, along with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills to contribute to Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Electrical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- 2+ years of experience with wire design/wire harness installation and/or equipment installation.
- 2+ years of experience working with computer aided design (CAD) such as CATIA, Solidworks, Siemens, NX.
