Job Summary

Push wheelchair passengers to and from gates, roll customer-occupied wheelchairs safely down jet bridges, and assist with luggage transport to vehicles, taxi stands, and rental car stations. Ensure wheel brakes are secured before passenger exit, complete incident reports, and follow dispatcher gate orders. Maintain a friendly, positive attitude while communicating clearly with passengers, answering safety questions, and addressing individual needs. Work in a physically demanding environment requiring on-the-job security training and applicable airport badge clearance. Lift up to 75 lbs and push loaded wheelchairs up to 300 lbs on inclines throughout the shift.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to clear a background and drug screen
  • Must be able to lift up to up to 75 lbs and push a loaded wheelchair up to 300lbs up and down inclines throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift passengers from the wheelchair to the seat on the plane
  • Complete all required training including airport compliance
  • Able to obtain an airport badge
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 75 pounds regularly
  • Must be able to move in a relatively quick manner
  • Close vision
  • Peripheral vision
  • Ability to adjust focus

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills using appropriate grammar, tone, and pronunciation to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
