Airline Operations Coordinator (TRC)

Job Summary

Calculate aircraft weight and balance prior to flight departure and coordinate all phases of aircraft handling, including catering, cleaning, fueling, and crew boarding. Monitor flight activity, record daily records, and manage towing and gate activity changes while providing principal operations communications between Ramp Operations and the customer. Conduct operational safety and load security checks, report unserviceable ground support equipment, and troubleshoot issues during loading and unloading. Perform physical tasks requiring the lifting and moving of heavy items in all weather conditions while maintaining Service Level Agreements and daily performance statistics.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma, GED, or work experience equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 (if work location is in the United States)
  • Authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001 (if work location is in Canada)
  • Complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security
  • Ability to secure a Customs Seal through the respective governing agency (if required by customer or role access)
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift / carry / push / pull and move items 70 pounds (32 kg) or more on a regular basis and repetitively lift items weighing 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces
  • Ability to carry heavy items up and down narrow jetway stairs
  • Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods
  • Ability to work in cramped or high places
  • Ability to be alerted to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment to communicate with crew and airport authorities
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather, around jet and machinery noises
  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills: ability to provide direction and support to their team to complete all required tasks proficiently and safely
  • Excellent Communication Skills: ability to communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment effectively in a professional manner with the flight crew, gate agents, and other ground crew to coordinate the movement and handling of planes, equipment, baggage, and cargo
  • Strong math skills: ability to calculate weight and balance calculations for planes
  • Intermediate Computer skills: ability to use computer systems to track cargo and baggage
  • Problem-solving skills: ability to troubleshoot issues during loading and unloading
  • Time management skills: ability to manage their time effectively to complete tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions while at work
  • Cooperate with their manager / supervisor to allow them to perform or comply with any legal requirements imposed on the company
  • Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided by the company in the interests of health, wellbeing, safety, security or welfare reasons
  • Inform their manager / supervisor of any work situation, equipment, or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health, wellbeing, safety, and security
  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to their manager / supervisor
  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety, and security rules or procedures
  • Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies
  • Attend training courses as may be required by AGI

Desired Qualifications

  • One+ year of airline ramp experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking customers, patients, clients, or team members
